Call for Submissions
Interested artists are invited to the UWCV call for submissions of artwork,
fabric art, photography and jewellery for exhibit in the Gallery at
Hycroft for 2011. Artists and jewellers wishing to participate in the
call should deliver their work on Sunday, September 19 from 1:00-4:00
pm. The submissions will be reviewed on Monday, September 20 and artists
may pick up their work between 4:00 and 6:00 pm on that day. Please
note: jewellery must be made by those artisans submitting their work.

All Members, friends, family, and the public are invited to the Gallery's
first showing of the Fall which will celebrate the unique photography
of Ross den Otter, the experiential paintings of Emmanuelle Renard,
and the exquisite and delicate jewellery of Valerie Gobert Ross den
Otter's photographs explore the richness of the natural landscape and
the beauty of an ecologically balanced world. He has worked with many
of Vancouver's fine art and commercial photographers, has had displays
at the Firehall Arts Center and On the Rise Artist Col-lective, and
in the Eastside Culture Crawl. Emmanuelle Renard's paintings capture
her personal memories of her French heritage, her African bush experiences,
and her training as a geographer, and reflect the bun-ished auras of
these exotic places and her personal response their changing seasons.
Valerie Gobert’s crea-tions feature pearls in combinations of precious
metals and stones. These pieces will enhance the wardrobes of everyone
who wears one. Come, enjoy a glass of wine, conversation, our beautiful
Hycroft, and the creativity of these wonderful, talented artists.
