CFUW 100th Anniversary Scholarship Project

By February 23, 2016No Comments

The University Women’s Club of Vancouver is raising funds for women’s education in recognition of the CFUW 100th Anniversary Scholarship Project in 2019. Do something today that will prepare you and your family for potential emergencies and help raise funds for women’s education at the same time. Through the sale of Emergency Preparedness Kits, $25 from the sale of each kit will go to the UWCV Trust Fund for Education and the CFUW Charitable Trust.

To celebrate CFUW’s support of women’s studies since 1919, Clubs, Councils and members have been invited to award, at both the local and national level, an additional $100,000 in scholarships and awards in recognition of the CFUW 100th Anniversary Scholarship Project during the anniversary year.  To date, Clubs across Canada have already donated or committed $68,000 to the CFUW Charitable Trust for additional fellowships in 2019.

Locally, the UWCV Trust Fund for Education provides bursaries and scholarships through donations, fundraising, bequests, and memorial gifts. Endowed and annual scholarships and bursaries are provided to the following schools and institutes of higher learning: The University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Langara College, Burnaby North Secondary School, and Britannia Secondary School – a total of 26 different awards.

Nationally the CFUW Charitable Trust assists women university graduates to further their post secondary education.  The Trust raises money to support annual Fellowships, Awards and Grants for Canadian women doing advanced study and research in science, math, engineering, home economics, education, visual arts, music, humanities, and social sciences.

Kits are available for purchase through the end of June. Click here  for an electronic copy of the Poster & Order Form. Order Forms are also available at Hycroft.

Make it a “Win-Win” – a win for you and your family, and a win for women’s education.
