Canada’s Forgotten War–Korea, 1950-53 via Zoom
April 13, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

After World War II and long before Afghanistan, there was Korea. In the summer of 1950, North Korea invaded the South. The United Nations defended the South, and Communist China intervened for the North. Canada sent 25,000 men to fight under the flag of the UN. Hundreds of them did not return. Their story is one of the pitched battles on remote hilltops and static battles reminiscent of World War I’s trench warfare.
Robert W. Mackay is a Canadian author of historical fiction who has presented in the past on World War I’s Canadian cavalry and Cold War submarines.
