We are joined by Katheryn Hearn, a developmental Advisor from Heart and Stroke Foundation, will speak about the State of Women’s Heart and Brain health in Canada and what you can do to protect your health and improve health of others.
Summary: Heart disease and stroke claim the life of a woman in Canada every 17 minutes yet women’s heart and brain health is still vastly misunderstood. Despite recent progress, these diseases remain the leading cause of premature death for women in Canada. Too many women are unnecessarily suffering and dying from heart disease. They have been left behind because they are under-researched, under-diagnosed and under-treated, and under-supported during recovery. Why are more women dying from heart disease and stroke and what does that mean for you? Learn about the heart, the brain, and things that may increase your risk as well as how you can help to close the gap in women’s heart and brain health.
