Speaker: David R. Conn
Topic: Investing with Sustainable Value Stocks
Most of us invest in one way or another. A mattress is not the place to stash our savings, and cash loses value over time. If we collect a pension, someone else is investing for us. One way to fight inflation could be to hold shares in some carefully chosen stocks for the long term.
What are sustainable value stocks? Stocks offer fractional ownership in major corporations and a share in their growth and profits. Sustainable stocks are rated relatively green and ethical. Value stocks are proven, profitable leaders in their fields. It’s possible for corporations to have both attributes — Alphabet, Apple, CN Rail and Telus are examples.
David Conn invests by picking from two authoritative lists of “best” stocks. He will explain and recommend some books about investing.
David is not a financial manager or advisor. He is a retired librarian and journalist who has researched stock investing for years. He believes some club members will be interested in his findings.
Register by Thursday, October 27th.
