Trump’s Trolls: The Rise of the Empowered Alt-Right
October 1 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The victory of Donald Trump in the 2016 US presidential election was made possible by many factors, including the unexpected and precipitous rise of the so-called alt-right. This talk explores the phenomenon of the alt-right and the online culture that has facilitated its coalescence. Regardless of the trajectory of the Trump administration, the phenomenon of Trumpism will persist in American political life. In this talk we will address the likely effects of this reorientation of American politics.
