Wicked Women and Mad Men Talks – Dr. Kina Caviocchioli

April 2 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Hycroft, 1489 McRae Avenue
Vancouver, BC V6H 1V1 Canada

Talk Title: Ariosto's Orlando: The Knight Mad with Love

Kina Caviocchioli came to Canada as a graduate student from the UK more than 20 years ago. Her plan was to spend three years at UBC, complete a Ph.D. on Victorian Women's Ghost Stories, and have an adventure in the wilds of BC before going home to London. Instead, she fell in love with the West Coast and stayed. The Ph.D. on ghost stories remains hauntingly unfinished. In 2007 Kina joined the English Department at Langara College, where she teaches courses in everything from business writing to theatre history. She is currently the English Department Chair. When she isn't teaching, Kina writes poetry, fantasizes about becoming a stand-up comedian, and runs away to Tofino as often as possible.

Please register with the office by Friday, March 27th.
