Gorgeous music from the 16th – 18th century sung with lute accompaniment and piano will clear away some of the February blues. Repertoire ranges from sad to joyful, doleful to playful, and will include examples of all the greats including Dowland, Campion, Purcell.
Elspeth McVeigh newly returned to early music and Miriam Davidson, of the Laudate singers, are joined by Nathaniel Hurwitz, lutenist and scholar of musicology and Jocelyn Pritchard, well-known for her piano collaboration

Do you have any antiques in the attic? Unknown treasures collecting dust in the basement or garage? Found a unique item in a yard sale that you want to learn more about? Have you ever wanted to know the history and value of your family heirlooms?
Here is your chance. The University Women’s Club at Hycroft is teaming up with local art and antique experts Anthony Westbridge and Peter Blundell who will provide a verbal appraisal including age, history, and value. Come down and get three items appraised with the price of admission. Antiques, collectibles, and art are perfect for this event – no guns, stamps, coins, furniture or jewelry please.
Appraisals by appointment only, time slots will fill up quickly so book yours early.

ABOUT THE EXPERTS
Anthony Westbridge
Anthony Westbridge, a recognized author, art dealer, publisher and auctioneer, founded Westbridge Publications in 1972 and Westbridge Fine Art in 1975. He has been involved with, and writing about, the art market in Canada and internationally for 40 years. Dubbed the unofficial “Dean of the Canadian Art Market” by the national press, Anthony combines his wealth of experience as publisher of the Canadian Art Sales Index with the management of a unique boutique auction house in Vancouver to provide both clients, and the entire industry, with unparalleled insight into the Canadian art market.
Peter Blundell
Peter Blundell of Blundell Antique and Art Appraisals has been providing appraisals to the public for over 20 years. Peter is an accredited member of The Canadian Association of Personal Property Appraisers and a graduate of the International Society of Appraisers Training. He was a local Advisory Expert to CBC Canadian Antiques Roadshow in 2007. His specialties include North American and European Art, Furniture, Silver, Porcelains, Pottery, Collectables, Early and Kerosene Lighting. Peter has authored several books and price guides on antiques and collectibles.

Emma Lynds, the only woman in Vancouver to own and operate an independant Martial Arts studio, delivers an introduction to effective self-defence techniques in an 1.5 hour workshop. Our goal is to help you develop deeper situational awareness while testing you in scenarios you have likely never been in before. You will learn to diffuse your panic in a fun environment and go home empowered with the confidence to apply the tools you learn. Please dress in clothes that are comfortable for physical activity and running shoes. Personal water bottles are recommended. Program Committee.

SKAGIT VALLEY TULIP FESTIVAL TOUR DAY TRIP ~ Thursday 19 April
$80 for members; $85 for non-members
The bus will leave Hycroft at approximately 8:30am and will return 12-13 hours later. There will be free time in the afternoon for lunch, shopping, etc. To secure your seat, full payment (chq, Visa, MC, cash) is due by Friday, March 9 along with a copy of the front page of your passport and a copy of your travel Health Insurance. Also, a liability waiver needs to be signed in the Office. Guests (including men!) are very welcome. There are only a few seats left on the bus so please sign up ASAP for this exciting day-trip.
