The University Women’s Club of Vancouver is pleased to welcome Wendy Orvig as the new Club President. An accountant and current Director of Finance at Bard on the Beach, Wendy is the Club’s 63rd  President and will serve in her new role for a two-year term.

Wendy joined the UWCV in 2008 and since taken a very active role in Club life including volunteering as the Treasurer for both the Club and our signature Christmas at Hycroft. Having spent the last two years serving as the Club’s 2nd Vice President, Wendy brings a wealth of experience to her new role and is ready to help our organization continue to contribute to the community and stay active, dynamic, and relevant.

Traditionally the UWCV’s Board of Directors has been tasked with many responsibilities, including a large role in operations. According to Wendy “it is now time to make some changes that will be beneficial to both the incoming board and future boards…to look externally, as our founders did before us.” With a vision for focusing more energy on what we can contribute to our community and creating a place of sisterhood and shared interest, Wendy plans to lead the Club as one united voice and hopes to expand our reach and commitment to women’s advocacy and education.

Also elected to the UWCV Board of Directors were first Vice-President Maureen Atwell, second Vice-President Charlotte Burns, Member-At-Large Patricia Porter, Education Chair Margaret Imrie,  and Trust Fund for Education trustee Elizabeth Gautschi.
