We are delighted to welcome Shachi Kurl as our speaker for the annual Hycroft Lecture, an important event in our club’s calendar that features an accomplished Canadian woman and highlights her distinguished achievements.
Shachi is President of the Angus Reid Institute, Canada’s non-profit, non-partisan public polling foundation, and oversees research that reveals truths about how our values, beliefs, and priorities shape the future of our country and the current reality of our lives. Shachi spent the first half of her career as a political reporter and has nearly two decades of public policy expertise. She has been sought by policymakers to testify before the House of Commons and is regularly called upon by the media for her unique insights, including on CBC’s Power and Politics, in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Globe and Mail, and on the editorial pages of the Ottawa Citizen.
Shachi will share her accurate and deep understanding of what Canadians are collectively thinking and the influence this thinking will have on the future of our nation. She will also unveil the lessons and life experiences that helped propel her to the life she leads today. We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring, frank and compelling talk.
