Your Invitation to Participate in “Hycroft for the Holidays”
Vancouver’s Best Heritage Event November 27th – 30th, 2025
Hycroft, a beautiful Italianate mansion, was built in the Edwardian Era in 1911 by General Alexander Duncan McRae, a well-respected entrepreneur. The McRae family lived in Hycroft until 1942 when it was sold to the nation for $1 to be used as a veterans’ hospital. After Hycroft was closed in 1960, it was left abandoned until purchased by The University Women’s Club of Vancouver (UWCV) in 1962. Hycroft is one of Vancouver’s most important designated heritage sites.
Hycroft was painstakingly restored by Club members and is now preserved and maintained by the Hycroft Heritage Preservation Foundation (HHPF), a registered charity. In addition to maintaining the mansion, approximately 300 members of the UWCV are committed at local, national and international levels, to supporting education, advocacy, fellowship and the arts.
The largest single fund-raising event for HHPF is “Hycroft for the Holidays”
This truly lovely and inspirational prelude to the Holiday season will be attended in 2025 by thousands of people from all over the lower mainland who will experience a magical afternoon or evening at Hycroft enjoying the wonderful Edwardian Christmas décor, festive entertainment and specialty craft vendors’ market. Attendees will be able to enjoy bistro food and refreshments.
The event receives substantial exposure through television, radio, newspapers, and social media.
This is an invitation for you to assist us in our fundraising for HHPF with a corporate sponsorship.
Participating businesses will be prominently featured in our event program and on the Hycroft for the Holidays website as well as on signage in the mansion. We would be pleased to receive confirmation of your decision no later than October 25th, 2025, so that we may recognize your contribution appropriately.
All donations and sponsorships are greatly appreciated! Thank you for considering our request.
Yours sincerely,
